A TRIP OF A LIFETIME FOR LOAN
When Fiona McDonald’s niece in Vietnam wanted to train as a hairdresser in Australia, Fiona saw an advertisement about the Australian Academy of Hairdressing and contacted them.
Her niece Loan, worked in a material shop in Vietnam and also worked in a hairdressing salon. She was studying English as well.
“I was impressed when I went to The Academy to enquire about the training”, said Fiona.
“It is a lovely school and Bronwyn, the Overseas Student Co-Ordinator was very friendly and helpful”, she said.
“Loan contacted Bronwyn by email a few times and has received papers through the mail as well”, explained Fiona.
“Loan didn’t need to go to an agent, she found the websites, which Bronwyn recommended, very easy to follow. Loan plans to study more English by completing a 10 weeks course, when she arrives in Melbourne. She’ll be living with me and joining The Academy’s Certificate III in Hairdressing in November. Her course is for 2 years”, said Fiona.
“The Academy has many students from Vietnam and even has a Vietnamese instructor who helps any students if they have any questions about the theoretical work”, she said.
“I’m sure Loan is going to be very happy training at The Academy. I can’t wait for her to arrive”, smiled Fiona.
“If Loan is fortunate enough to be approved for Permanent Residency, she plans to open her own salon here in Melbourne”, said Fiona.
