Fatima Mohammed had always had a passion for Beauty. When her friend trained as a hairdresser at The Academy, she told her all about it and recommended she look at what the Academy had to offer.

OWN SALON
" My friend had her own salon, so I was interested in both hair and beauty," said Fatima. "I plan to also have my own salon one day."

FLEXIBLE TIMETABLE
"I discovered I could train in both hair & beauty 4 days a week - between 9am and 4pm, and even choose the days," said Fatima. "This really suited me, because I'm on my own, with a little boy, and a wonderful neighbour offered to mind my son while I did the course." "I'm doing Certificate III in Beauty and Certificate III in Hairdressing, and I love it," she smiled.

FEES BY INSTALMENTS
"Because I'm on a Sole Parent Pension, The Academy offered me special fees which made it easy for me to pay each month. I did a lot of research into where I could train, and The Academy was the only place I could afford," explained Fatima.

FRIENDLY STUDENTS
"The Academy students come originally from many different countries. It's a very multicultural environment and I fit in easily," said Fatima.

2 COURSES AT THE SAME TIME
"I'm managing both courses alright and I do most of the bookwork at home, so most of my days at The Academy are spent giving beauty and hair services to the clients," she said.

A JOB AT THE END
"When I graduate, The Academy will help me find a job, I can't wait!" smiled Fatima. "Because there's a huge shortage of qualified hairdressers, I shouldn't have any problems finding a job."

ERIN WHITE APPRENTICE- Partly Trained Recognition of Prior Learning (R.P.L.) is available to anyone with previous hairdressing or beauty experience. This means when you train at The Academy you will be credited in both fees and a reduction in length of the course.
